Which disc should I use when recording my videos??
I have been using Sony Dvd-RW 120 min 4.7 GB which are 1x-4x compatiable. Then I have been using Memorex DVD-R 120 min 4.7 b which are 16 x compatiable. When I make the movies on the Sony they don't skip or have problems. While on the Memorex they do and its not just one dvd player or computer. Its mulitple. Does anyone have a suggestion. If I get any brand that are 1-4x compatiable either R or RW should it work? PLEASE HELP

Memorex is what I consider in the middle of the pack in terms of quality. It could just be that the DVD players you've tried to play them on are having problems with that brand.
Try Verbatim, Fujifilm, or Nexxtech (cheap at Circuit City). Buy small 3 or 5 packs until you find a brand that is just as compatible as your Sony Dvd-RWs. Then buy the winner in bulk....

UPDATE:
The idea that +R is less compatible than -R is a matter of opinion really. By the reports from end users, that is true but not by much. The following link shows that:

Truth is that most DVD players can read both. Typically, it's the ones that are more than 4 years old that have the most difficulty. However, I happen to have one of the first DVD player models from Pioneer from back in late 1999 (I remember paying a fortune for it! - $350). It can read both + and - DVD discs, and just about any brand that I've thrown at it. So there are exceptions to the rule.
