DVD-RW and DVD+RW
Both are re-writable, both have a capacity of 4.7Gb but the price difference is quite a lot.
In Argos a spindle of 25 Maxell Dvd-RW costs £8.97 compared to £14.92 for the same quantity of DVD+RW.
What are the advantages of the more expensive ones compared to the cheaper?
There is no difference other than the format. It depends on your DVD recorder/writer. Some will use DVD+RW, and some will use DVD-RW. There is no difference at all in performance.
