how much video will fit on a Dual Layer Dvd Disc?
i already put two movies onto one Dual Layer disc (its a DVD + R that says it holds 8x 240 minutes/8.5gb, which i'm not sure what that means) and i took out the disc and realized I could fit much more onto it. can I add more video to the disc, or is the disc unwritable now? if i add more will it only burn over top of what I already put on there?
to burn, i use the program ConvertXtoDVD, really great program by the way, and not too expensive to get the full version either. highly recommend it 
Since a DL disk is R, not RW, you can't put any more on it.
The 240 minutes is an approximation - it depends on the format of the movie and the content. (If you're burning vob files - which you need if you want them to play in a DVD player, you can put about 240 minutes of movie on the disk.) Disks are measured in file size, not time, so if you want to know how much movie you can put on the disk, look at the sizes of the files once they're converted to vob. (A 700MB avi file will convert to about 5-7GB of vob file.)
